Karneval de Purim
Wo? Ritter Butzke, Ritterstr. 26, 10969 Berlin
Wann? Saturday, 11.03.2017 23:50
It is rather safe to say that the common motive of all Jewish holidays is: "they tried to kill us, we survived, let's eat!". There is, however, one holiday that defies this pattern. This holiday is Purim.
Yes, also in Purim, we celebrate a survival from certain extinction. However, the way we do it surely makes Dionysus proud: yes, they tried to kills us. Yes, again we survived. No, no food this time, but LOT'S of BOOZE, so much, that one should not be able to tell left from right, day from night, wrong from right.
Yes, such holiday indeed exists, and we know, it is not an easy fact to digest. Instead of the automated ghetto association to Judaism, Purim represents a secular, hedonistic approach to Jewish culture: a gigantic fiesta where all borders fall and everybody's welcomed.
Leave any stereotypes at home: the past three editions of Karneval de Purim have proven that when Jewish hedonism meets the Berliner Techno scene, the result is an explosion of happiness and freedom, like you've never seen before.
Karneval de Purim is a costume party. Those who arrive without a costume would be able to either buy one inside the club or get a glorious makeup for their faces. The party doesn't have a specific theme, so feel free to disguise yourselves as anything you want, from Melania Trump to Charlie the Unicorn.
Most importantly, remember that Karneval de Purim is about openness, respect and communication and is no place for racism, sexism and homophobia. Be social, be communicative and we promise you an unforgettable night.
Oh, and once again, we also have an incredible musical program, with some of the very best circumcised DJs this city has to offer, starring:
Jake The Rapper
Kiki
Mario Aureo
Marion Cobretti
Eisenberg
LaTriq
Modest Crow
and more to be announced.
Our special surprise for this Purim edition is our Balkan - Klezmer - Shchuna floor, staring one of the world's most famous Balkan DJs and performers, Shantel. Before him on this floor, the Zigan Aldi collective, performing live Armenian music with electronic beats, and closing this floor, DJ Anat Gilad, with the very best of hits played in every common Israeli wedding.
Karneval de Purim 2017, wilder than ever!
