Jazz at the Kulturcafé

Wo? Laeiszhalle, Johannes-Brahms-Platz , 20355 Hamburg

Wann? Thursday, 21.11.2019 18:00

The violinist Flora Curzon and the cellist Francesca Ter-Berg have been studying klezmer and the traditional musical styles of Transylvania, Romania, Greece and Armenia for more than ten years. Emerging from that study now are their own compositions and arrangements, into which Fran & Flora, as the duo is called, have woven the traditional music. Their project is called »Unfurl« – in which the music is not a homage to the old masters, but rather a new interpretation. »Unfurl« impresses with fragments of deeply rooted music, experimental electronic and voice distortion.

Jazz at the Kulturcafé is a monthly event presenting the most promising upcoming artists in the jazz and singer-songwriter scene. It is the perfect experimental platform for musicians and bands from Hamburg and all over the country. The atmosphere is laid back – and admission is free!
